
The Gates Foundation today announced the awarding of grants under the Grand Challenges Initiative. The grants were spread over six Request-for-Proposals (Challenges). 66 primary investigators in 22 different countries were recipients of these grants.

- Innovative Data and Modeling Approaches to Measure Women's Health
- Reducing the Burden of Preeclampsia
Some of the grants are collaboratory projects involving more than one researcher.
