The potential for impact is constantly expanding as new knowledge and new tools become available. Grand Challenges was created to ensure that the smartest innovators in the world had the support they needed to develop cutting-edge approaches to improving and saving lives.
Promoting homegrown solutions
We ask innovators to submit ideas about solutions to overlooked yet urgent health and development challenges. Since those who live with those issues every day are uniquely suited to solving them, we rely on the expertise and perspectives of local leaders in the communities where the work is being done.
