To help open the conference, Bill Gates describes how breakthroughs in the areas of diagnostics, vaccines, and drugs during COVID-19 should change our paradigm for thinking about all three — not just in relation to pandemic preparedness but to the overall work of global health. He gives specific examples of how we can and should now be more ambitious about using all three tools to fight endemic diseases like HIV, TB, and malaria.
