Identification and Validation of Circulating Micrornas as Novel Biomarker for Neonatal Septicaemia
The team proposed to integrate systems biology based-network reconstruction approaches with quantitative gene expression experiments for the detection of circulating miRNAs as early biomarkers in different neonatal septicemic conditions. The team aims to adopt three-pronged strategy of identifying the most reliable miRNA biomarkers of neonatal sepsis through bioinformatic modelling, microarray-based comparative gene expression studies, and RT-PCR validation; and thereafter incorporate the identified and validated markers in a robust diagnostic kit capable of diagnosing neonatal sepsis from other simulating clinical conditions.
