Q: How can I upload a pdf or word document in Researchfish?
A: Researchfish is set up to be a searchable database for us, and as such does not permit uploading of word or pdf documents. Please review the standard set of questions and where it makes sense, enter the relevant information, even if it overlaps with that in your interim or final GCE report.

Q: How do I report on project results to satisfy the requirement of my GCE Phase I final report?
A: Researchfish platform does not duplicate the Phase I final report; therefore, we have not included specific questions around results except where they have been reported or published elsewhere (e.g. abstracts, presentations, papers), or have informed any of the other outputs or outcomes tracked by Researchfish. Please send your final report to [email protected], as well as submitting relevant outputs and outcomes via the Researchfish platform.

Q: Why are there different deadlines for submission of my final report for my GCE Phase I award and for my Researchfish submission?
A: Researchfish submission windows occur yearly for the lifetime of your GCE grant and for several years after, typically opening in September and closing in October. Your GCE Phase I Final Financial and Scientific Report is still due at the close of your grant. You will receive a reminder at that time to update your outputs and outcomes in Researchfish, and the GCE team will pull up-to-date information from your Researchfish award profile into your Phase I Report for use in closing out your GCE Phase I and/or assessing your progress as part of your Phase II application.

Q: How might my Researchfish information be used in my Phase II proposal submission?
A: In addition to providing predictable, annual submission windows for our grantees using Researchfish (opening in September each year), we also want to provide up to date information on the outputs and outcomes of your award to reviewers as you apply for Phase II. For all Phase II applications, we will pull "live" data from Researchfish at the Phase II submission deadline, which will be appended to your Phase II application. You will also continue to receive invitations to submit information during the annual submission windows for the lifetime of your award and for five years thereafter.
